Albuquerque has its fair share of breakfast spots, but no other city has Tim's Place. For the past two years, Tim's has been serving up breakfast, lunch and a whole lot of hugs. That's right, customers are greeted with a hug by Tim, the man himself.
But as much as they're known for having a friendly attitude, Tim's Place has been written up nationally because its owner, Tim Harris, defies expectations. Tim has Down Syndrome. People magazine has been out to visit and a KRQE story on the restaurant was picked up by CNN Headline News Network. Tim has won dozens of medals in the Special Olympics. He also does speaking engagements.
