Albuquerque Bead Renaissance Show
Enjoy wire art jewelry classes and find every kind of bead imaginable at this event. It takes place at the New Mexico Expo and is a free event. Offering a wire art jewelry class. The show is at New Mexico Expo November 16 - 18.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
The song and dance extravaganza tells the story of Joseph's many colored coat. This show celebrates the variety shows of the 1970s with a huge cast of students. It's at the Albuquerque Academy November 16 - 18.

Diwali, Festival of Lights
The Indian Association of New Mexico celebrates the festival of lights at the National Hispanic Cultural Center on Saturday, November 17 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be music, dance and food. Tickets can be purchased at local Indian restaurants, Bombay Spice Company, India Bazar and Subway at Wyoming and Academy. Call 306-9624 for information.

Monteverdi & the Madrigal
The Renaissance choral ensemble Quodlibet will perform sacred works by Claudio Monteverdi and English madrigals by Renaissance composers. Hear them November 17 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. Call 856-5797.

Placitas Holiday Fine Arts and Crafts Sale
Three locations: Anasazi Winery, 26 Camino de los Pueblitos; by Presbyterian Church at 636 NM 165; and Placitas Elementary, 5 Calle de Carbon, Placitas
Hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. November 17 and 18. The annual Placitas holiday arts and crafts sale features over 80 artists at three locations. Admission is free.

Visit the cranes this weekend at two different festivals. The Albuquerque Open Space visitor center will feature the cranes at their annual Sandhill Crane Festival this Saturday and Sunday. Take a nature walk and get to know these beautiful birds up close. There will be origami making and plenty of activities for the kids. Or head to the Bosque del Apache for its annual Festival of Cranes, which continues Friday through Sunday. There you'll see sandhill cranes along with many other species of migrating birds.

Figueroa Project: Olga Kern
The Figuero Project brings Olga Kern to the National Hispanic Cultural Center, where she will play Tchaikovssky and Beethoven. Hear the music November 16 or 18.

Cause of the Week

St. Jude Give Thanks Walk
The walk on Saturday, November 17 takes place at Cottonwood Mall and helps raise funds to help kids battling cancer and other diseases. The noncompetitive 5k features family-oriented carnival events at the mall. The walk takes place inside the mall.
