When events such as the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy take place, we're often beset with a sense that there is nothing we can do. One Albuquerque firm decided there was something they could do, though, and took it into their own hands.
Rainbow Ryders, which has provided locals and tourists with balloon rides for many years, have announced a memorial balloon glow for the victims of the Sandy Hook tragedy. The Sandy Hook Elementary Balloon Glow will take place at Balloon Fiesta Park on Friday, December 21, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. You don't have to have a balloon to participate. The memorial is for all to share, balloonists and onlookers alike. It seems a fitting way to let Newtown residents know that Albuquerque cares. They have 34 balloons signed on for the event as of this writing.
