Nutcracker Ballet in the Land of Enchantment
Performed by the Festival Ballet Albuquerque, accompanied by music of the Figueroa Project. The traditions and heritage of New Mexico are paired with the classical tale of the holidays. Choreographed by Patricia Dickinson Wells. Live music will be played under the direction of Maestro Guillermo Figueroa. See it at the National Hispanic Cultural Center December 21, 22 and 23.
The Truth About Santa
The Southwest Rural Theater Project performs an unusual Christmas story about Santa, warts and all. It's an apocalyptic holiday tale for grownups. See it Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 7 p.m. this weekend and next; and Sunday 12/23 at 2 p.m.
The Ballet Repertory Theatre will perform the Nutcracker at the KiMo. See it Saturday, December 22 or Sunday, December 23 and again on the 24th with a special Nutcracker Tea.
The men's team takes on South Dakota State at the Pit on Saturday, December 22. See the undefeated team play at 12:30 p.m.
Winter Solstice Solar Observing
The Albuquerque Astronomical Society will have solar telescopes set up at the Petroglyph National Monument on Saturday, December 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A kids constellation program begins at noon. The park is at 6001 Unser NW. Call 899-0205 for information.
Holiday Enrichment at the Zoo
The animals get their holiday treats this Saturday, December 22. Watch as they enjoy from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Zoo.

Musica Antigua performs medieval and renaissance Christmas music on classical instruments. Hear it at St. Michael's and All Angels, 601 Montano NW on Saturday, December 22.
Las Posadas de Barelas
The Barelas neighborhood association re-enacts the journey of Mary and Joseph and that special night in Bethlehem. Join the procession as it goes to the Sacred Heart Church for the Fiesta de Navidad. Bring candles and flashlights and dress warmly. It starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 22 at the Barelas Community Center. This is a free event.
