Caroline Martin Swing Band in Concert
The fiddler takes the South Broadway Cultural Center stage to perform swing that goes beyond traditional western styles. The wood dance floor will be open for dancing during the concert. Hear the music Friday, January 11.

Free Community Opera: Massenet's Cinderella
The story of Cinderella is fully staged and costumed and playing in Santa Fe at the Scottish Rite Temple. The free performance is accessible to all ages and no tickets are needed. See it January 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. or Sunday the 13 at 2 p.m.

Cahoots
The Adobe Theater features a comedy with murder. We know it was Ken in the living room with the pepper mill, but why did Al have to die? The play begins tonight and runs weekends at the Adobe through February 3.

Just a Gigolo
The U.S. premiere of Just a Gigolo happens in Albuquerque for three shows only. The comedy brings to light the affair of Angelo Ravagli and Frida Lawrence. The one man show follows Ravagli as he has an affair with D.H. Lawrence's wife, the story that inspired Lady Chatterly's Lover. See it January 11, 12 or 13 at the Cell.

Santa Fe Snowshoe Classic
The 3.6 mile race is on rolling terrain at 10,000 feet. There is a one mile race distance for kids. Snowshoe rentals from REI will be available at the race. It's happening Saturday, January 12.

Art in the Afternoon
The Albuquerque Museum will feature live music with Cornbread Blues, food, drink specials and shopping in the museum shop. Take in a bite at the Slate cafe. Cornbread Blues is an Albuquerque band known for its deep rhythm and blues. This is a free concert, happening Saturday, January 12.

Winter Bird and Bat Festival
Join the staff and volunteers of the Nature Center to learn about the bats of New Mexico, some of the special projects happening at the center, and more. There will be speakers, guided bird walks, nature walks, rescue birds, and crafts for kids. It happens Saturday, January 12.

Patrick Ball: Celtic Harp
Music in Corrales will feature the storytelling and Celtic harp of Patrick Ball. Learn the tale of Turlough O'Carolan's farewell to music. Saturday, January 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Old San Ysidro Church.

Books to the Big Screen
Albuquerque libraries are celebrating books brought to the big screen in January. This week's kid movies are Watership Down at the Guild Cinema and Charlotte's Web at the South Broadway Cultural Center. See them Saturday, January 12.

Romeo & Juliet
The New Mexico Philharmonic will present Prokofiev's music with a full staging of the ballet by the New Mexico Ballet Company. See it at the National Hispanic Cultural Center January 12 and 13.

Albuquerque Comic Con
See anime screenings, comic book artists, and celebrate stars such as Denise Crosby of Star Trek at the annual event that keeps getting bigger. The comic con happens January 12 and 13; purchase tickets online to save.
