Welcome to Sky City. Located 70 miles west of Albuquerque, Acoma Pueblo provides visitors with a unique glimpse into an ancient culture and its present people. Acoma is known as the Sky City. Built atop a sheer-walled, 367 foot sandstone bluff, Sky City lies in a valley of sandstone monoliths. The area is sacred to the Acoma people, who are the oldest continuously inhabited community in North America.

Driving to Acoma from Albuquerque takes a little over an hour and makes for a great day trip.

The Sky City Cultural Center includes the Haak'u Museum, a gift shop, cultural exhibits and a cafe. And while visiting the center is worthwhile, the highlight of any visit to Acoma is the Sky City Pueblo Tour. The guided tour involves about a 3/4 mile hike atop the Sky City mesa. The Acoma people live below the mesa top, but spiritual leaders live on the mesa top year round.

Sky City Cultural Center and Haaku Museum were voted the Best Cultural Museum in the Southwest by Official Best Of Destinations Across the Country for 2013.
