Family Art Workshops
The Albuquerque Museum offers hands on workshops that encourage creative thinking and explorations into art. The workshops are free with regular admission.

Children and their adult explorers can enjoy story time followed by crafts and games at the Balloon Museum. The program is designed especially for infants through six years. Every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 p.m. This is a free event.

Sunday Chatter
Every week at Sunday Chatter, folks gather to hear classical music, poetry and more. Arrive at the Kosmos Gallery before 10 a.m. for the complementary espresso bar. Each program of ensemble music and poetry/spoken word begins at 10:30 a.m. Tickets available only at the door. Frequent passes are available.

Income Tax Assistance
Get tax assistance at one of the various city senior centers. Make an appointment for help from a volunteer tax assistant. Times vary by senior center, but the service is free.

Winter Fire Color
The Mediterranean Conservatory at the Botanic Gardens will feature a floral display of hot colors to warm up the cold winter days. Free with admission.

Animal Humane of New Mexico offers vaccines, microchips, and canine heartworm testing/preventative medication for the general public from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m.; for any other service, you must qualify and make an appointment during regular business hours. Vaccination clinics are open to the public regardless of income; prices are the same for everyone. First Friday of every month.

First Friday Fractals
Art and science meet under the planetarium dome for these live presentations. Fractals Rock has more rock music and less talk. See it the first Friday of every month at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science.

With over 20 different galleries throughout the city participating, you can choose which ones to visit to find out what's happening with guilds, individual artists and ongoing shows. The free Artscrawl happens the first Friday of every month.

Poland's Teatr Figur Krakow presents a show of hand theatre. The artists use their hands, arms and a sense of humor to bring the show to life. See it at the National Hispanic Cultural Center.

The high school students from the Albuquerque Youth Symphony will perform at Popejoy Hall. Soloist Kayla Mathes will perform Elgar's cello concerto.

Santa Fe & The Fat City Horns
Santa Fe & The Fat City Horns has headlined in Las Vegas for many years. The band's six piece horn and six piece rhythm sections, and five lead singers is a throwback to the horn bands of the past. See them at the KiMo.

Trucks take the stage at Santa Ana Center. See dinosaur themed truck Smashasuraus, Tailgator, Bigfoot, Equilizer, Toxic, and the transforming, fire-breathing dinosaur robot, Transurus.

Carnaval Celebration
The annual Carnaval celebration at the National Hispanic Cultural Center is a festive evening of music and dance. See the Odara Dance Ensemble and the musical group PANdemonium.

Valentine Cabaret
The New Mexico Gay Men's Chorus will sing about the many sides of love at the South Broadway Cultural Center. Hear songs such as "Breaking Up is Hard to Do" and others by soloists, duos, ensembles and the full chorus.

Outdoor Adventures Hunting and Fishing Show
The popular expo is in its 15th year, bringing the outdoors to you. There will be fly fishing demonstrations, campfire cooking demos, special activities for kids, outdoor furniture and art and hundreds of outdoor products. Kids love the simulated fishing for Alaskan King salmon. See it at New Mexico Expo.

The three ring circus runs for three days and eight shows. All proceeds benefit Ballut Abayd Shrine Center, which gives to children who need medical care. See it at the New Mexico Expo; you have eight shows to choose from. Tickets can be purchased online, or call (505) 255-5329.

Adults Only Valentine's Day Tours
Three tours are available: "Birds and the Beasts," at the zoo; "Love Bugs" at the Botanic Gardens and "That's a Moray!" at the Aquarium. The tour is for adults only, 18 and older.
