Globalquerque World Music Festival
Every September, ¡Globalquerque! comes to Albuquerque, bringing with it world music, dance, entertainment, arts and crafts and a day of free activities. The 2012 festival takes place Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22. The 2012 ¡Globalquerque! is the festival's eighth year.

There will be a GlobalQik! dance party on Thursday, September 21, from 6:30 p.m. to midnight. All ¡Globalquerque! events take place at the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC), at 1701 4th Street NW, at Avenida Cesar Chavez.

What to Expect:
Performances take place on three stages for two nights; the performances begin at 6 p.m.; wander and hear different artists. In addition to the performances, there is a Global Village set up with vendors, craftspeople and artisans. Food is always part of the event. The Art Museum will be open and free. On Saturday, September 22, the FREE Global Fiesta will have events happening in four locations all day.

The GlobalQik! dance party kicks off the weekend event. It takes place outdoors and features live music and DJ sets by Earthrise Sound Systems, ZenOva, D Numbers and more. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Tickets include a community yoga class taught by Yogini Mikhayla Harrell.

World Music
¡Globalquerque! is known for its amazing lineup of world music. Performances take place on three stages.
