Fall Festival
Celebrate fall with your favorite calavera garb or costume. There will be fall arts and crafts, a costume contest, pet parade, face painting and hay rides around the plaza.
When: 3 p.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday, October 29
Where: Old Town.
Cost: Free treats, free pet parade and costume contest. All other activities $1, with proceeds benefiting San Felipe Church restoration.

Devil's Delight Haunted Halloween Costume Party
Go dressed in costume for this ghoulish event and enjoy drink specials. Best costume prize is $1,500. Must be 21 or older to participate.
When: Friday, October 28
Where: Ballroom at Sandia Resort
Cost: $15 advance tickets at the box office; $20 day of event.

Halloween Highball
The ride from Santa Fe to Lamy and back again becomes even more special with special Halloween themed rides. Adults can dress in costume while they enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres, and the witches' brew at the cash bar. The vintage coaches give a glimpse into the past. Reservations are recommended.
When: 6:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., Saturday, October 29
Where: From the Santa Fe Southern Railway Depot, 410 S. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe

Zoo Boo
Happy Halloween! The Zoo Boo offers a place for kids to safely gather candy, visit the zoo animals, and participate in lots of Halloween themed fun. This is an extremely popular event, so expect to stand in line. Once the doors open, the line moves quickly; but bring entertainment for the kids. Park and Ride will be available from the Aquarium and Botanic Garden from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
When: October 29, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Where: Rio Grande Zoo, 903 Tenth SW
Cost: $7 adults. Four kids in costume get in free with a paying adult.

The Zombie Pirates of Penzance
For one night only, the Cardboard Playhouse Players from the Box Theater come to SBCC.
When: October 29, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Where: South Broadway Cultural Center, 1025 Broadway SE
Cost: To be announced.

Fire Station Halloween Costume Contest
The 6th annual Halloween Costume Contest will feature costume contests for three age groups, and trophies for the top place winners. Firefighters will treat the kids with treat bags and food. They will also spray water from a fire hose and provide fire/rescue demonstrations.
When: Noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 29
Where: Fire Station #1, 2810 Southern Blvd., Rio Rancho

Halloween Day Hotshot
There will be a fun witch telling scary stories. Wear a costume on this afternoon train ride to the Galisteo Basin overlook and back again.
When: 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, October 30

Cost: $18 - $45

Halloween at Idalia Road Marketplace
The Idalia Road Marketplace in Rio Rancho offers its annual Big Brothers, Big Sisters costume contest for kids 12 and under. There will be prizes for costumes, music by Patricia Reyes and lots of fun. Ya Ya's Kitchen will have breakfast foods.
When: Starts at noon, Sunday, October 30
Where: Rio Rancho City Center, Idalia Road, 1/2 mile north of Northern Blvd.
Cost: Free.

Dia de los Muertos
South Broadway celebrates the tradition of the Day of the Dead by selecting a family to create an altar at the center. The community celebration features live music and family activities. Har Los Primos and Mariachi San Jose.
When: 2 p.m. - 5 p.m., Sunday, October 30
Where: South Broadway Cultural Center, 1025 Broadway SE
Cost: Free.

Mall-O-Ween
Have fun wearing costumes and participating in Halloween activities. There will be arts and crafts, games and prizes. mall wide trick or treating. Trick or treating starts later, at 6 p.m.
When: 4 to 6 p.m., Trick-or-Treating 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, October 31.
Where: Cottonwood Mall Center Court
Cost: Kidgits membership.

Costume Day
Enjoy trick or treating, face painting with Bee Bee the clown, and a costume contest.
When: 8 a.m. - 11 a.m., Saturday, October 22
Where: Los Ranchos Farmers Market, 6718 Rio Grande NW
Cost: Free.

The Great Pumpkin Chase
The course if fast and flat and crosses through the Country Club neighborhood. Participants are encouraged to wear a costume. Prizes are awarded for overall and age group winners as well as best costume. Kids
When: October 30, 9 a.m. for 10K, 9:05 for 5K and 10:15 for Kids K
