The Orchid Magic show features orchids in an annual event where hundreds of these special flowers fill the Mediterranean Conservatory and Garden Showroom at the Albuquerque Botanic Gardens. Every spring, the New Mexico Orchid Guild and the Botanic Gardens celebrate the unique beauty of orchids in a three day show.

Visitors can see hundreds of orchid varieties, orchid art, orchid photography, and contests. Arrangements will be judged, as well as art and collectibles. Visitors have the chance to vote on their favorite display. Talks and demonstrations will inform and educate.

New Mexico Orchid Guild President Steve Fischer will talk about orchid basics and repotting. Floral arranger Jason Seo, who won a national championship on floral arrangements in Koriea, will demonstrate how to arrange at home. Jon Stuart, the BioPark's curator of plants, will talk about New Mexico's native orchids. There are 29 native New Mexico orchids--what a surprise!

Winning orchids judged by the American Orchid Society will be on display. Visitors can vote for their favorites in the People's Choice Award.

The show and art competition are open to everyone. For entry details, see the New Mexico Orchid Guild.
