We tend not to think of snakes when it comes to albinos, yet this coloration occurs even with rattlers. The museum has an albino western diamondback rattlesnake that was born in captivity. Albino snakes born in the wild do not live long, as their coloring gives them away to predators. The museum's albino rattlesnake provides visitors with a glimpse at a rare yet natural phenomenon.
