The opening day celebration for 2013 takes place on Sunday, November 3 from noon to 6 p.m.
The Dia de los Muertos event will feature calavera art from local and regional artists, on display in the library of the South Broadway Cultural Center. The opening day celebration features live entertainment, face painting, silhouette making, and refreshments.
There will also be an art market. A community altar will be in place, and anyone interested can drop off the favorite music of loved ones who have passed away. The musical selections will be played throughout the opening day event.
The Dia de los Muertos celebration continues with the exhibition. See calavera art and ofrenda altars that exemplify this long standing tradition of remembering the dead.
The South Broadway Cultural Center is located at 1025 South Broadway.
