Nothing says spring is here more loudly than the bushes in the garden that scream to be pruned. Get out your clippers and don your insulated gloves, because the rose bushes are starting to sprout.
Weekends in March, Rosarians from the Albuquerque Rose Society will demonstrate how to prune, care for and feed those sprouting bushes. Whether you have roses or want to learn about them and plant your own, this is a workshop that won't steer you wrong.
The experts will also be on hand to answer any questions about these beautiful flowers. Best of all, there will be rose care supplies and equipment for sale (cash or checks only).
When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday in March (weather permitting)
Where: Tony Hillerman Library Rose Garden, 8205 Apache NE
Want to see more roses, or learn more about them? Or maybe you have prize winning roses. Each spring, the Albuquerque Garden Center has a rose show that is open to the public. The show runs Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2 at the Garden Center.
