Turkey Trots in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Santa Fe

Albuquerque turkey trots are a great way to multitask. They provide great exercise and often offer a way to give back to community causes. Consider doing one with your family and friends this Thanksgiving Day.

In Albuquerque

12th Annual Turkey Trek
Bring the family for a morning of fun that benefits The Storehouse. Events include a kids' fun run, a 2 mile fitness walk or a 5k run, with all age divisions, including divisions for seniors and kids. Dress in a turkey costume! Bring a non-perishable food item and/or clothing in good, clean condition to help those in need. Registration closes at noon, Tuesday, November 22nd. No registration the day of the race.
When: Races take place Thursday, November 22
Where: Start Tingley Drive across from the Aquarium at Central and Tingley.
Cost: Event prices vary, but start at $10.

In Rio Rancho

Hobbler Gobbler Thanksgiving Day Run
Join in the fun with an invigorating walk or run, and feel good knowing a portion of the proceeds will go to an after school running program for children. Registration closing date is November 22 at noon. Events include a 10k, 5k run and walk, and a kid k.
When: Thursday, November 22, 9 a.m. earliest start
Where: 745 Loma Colorado NE, Rio Rancho Aquatic Center
Cost: $10 - $25

In Santa Fe

Annual Fowl Day Run
You'll help support the Salvation Army food drive by entering this event. Events include a 5k fun run or a 3k walk. Organized by the Santa Fe Striders.
When: 9 a.m. start, Saturday, November 17
Where: Fort Marcy Recreation Center, Santa Fe
Cost: Non-perishable food item, cash, or check made out to Salvation Army.

Atalaya Turkey Trot
The course runs through scenic east side Santa Fe. Events include a 5K Run/Walk and a 1K Fun Run. Proceeds go to supporting the physical education program at Atalaya Elementary School. Also bring children and adult shoes to the event, which will go to a shoe drive for Kenya.
When: 9 a.m., Thursday, November 22
Where: Atalaya Elementary, 721 Camino Cabra, Santa Fe
Cost: $15 - $35.
